The Zoning Ordinance divides land within Danville Borough into districts, and each district has individual regulations for: Types of Principle and Accessory Uses permitted, Special Exceptions, and Building Regulations for zoning set-backs (clearances), Maximum building coverage, minimum lot size and maximum building height for structures in each zoning district. A copy of the Danville Borough Zoning Map may be obtained at the Borough offices at 239 Mill Street. A resident who receives a denial from the zoning officer fro a zoning permit for construction can apply to the Zoning Hearing  Board to hear the case. The Zoning Hearing Board has the authority to hear and grant variance requests for construction. The Danville Borough Zoning Hearing Board has exclusive jurisdiction to hear and render final decisions in the following matters:

** Application for variances from terms of the Zoning Ordinance.

*  Application for special exceptions under the Zoning Ordinance.

*  Appeals from the Zoning Officer's determination.

*  Appeals from a determination by the Municipal Engineer or the Zoning Officer with reference to the administration of any floodplain ordinance or such provisions within a land use ordinance.

*  Appeals from the determination of the Zoning Officer or Municipal Engineer in the administration of any land use ordinance or provision thereof with reference to sedimentation and erosion control and storm water management insofar as the same relate to development not involving applications under the municipality's Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance.
